William "Bill" Rowland is a Business Development Officer with the Export-Import Bank of the United States. As a member of the Small Business Group, Bill is part of the outreach team to women and minority owned businesses. Exim Bank’s charter is to create jobs by supporting US exporters. The official credit agency of the U.S., The Exim Bank and provides guarantees for working capital for capital equipment and inventory. The Bank also insures against non-payment of invoices, guaranteeing payment by foreign buyers.

Prior to joining Exim Bank, Bill was a Commercial Mortgage Broker. A licensed Realtor for the past twenty years, Bill has been involved in the acquisition and development of real estate sites and holds the Certified International Property Specialist designation from the National Association of Realtors. As a commercial real estate appraiser and Licensed Mortgage Broker, his real estate background has been both extensive and varied.

With the founding of the International Commerce Center, the marketing consulting firm extended its client list internationally. ICC was invited to make a branding and marketing presentation to the attendees at the prestigious Canton Export Commodities Fair, Guangzhou, China. This precedent-setting seminar resulted in a consulting contract for a Hong Kong listed holding company. In his four trips to China, ICC represented companies in the timber, sports drinks, waste-to-energy and water filtration industries.

After graduating with a Bachelors Degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Services, Mr. Rowland served four years in the US Navy, traveling widely in the Far East. His Navy assignments included Communications Office on USS Cabildo (LSD-16) and Assistant Division Officer, Naval Security Station, Washington, DC.

Mr. Rowland has served as Chairman of the Tampa Bay International Business Council, a member of the Mayor’s Global Business Development Committee, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce International Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of the Visiting International Professionals Program and a member of the Advisory Board, International Business Board of the University of South Florida.
